Glen C. Evans, Jr. was born in El Paso Texas. As the son of a career army father he lived in various places growing up including Korea, Germany and Virginia. He graduated from high school in Prince George, Virginia. He graduated from Asbury College with a degree in Bible Studies and received his Masters of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary. He served churches in Kentucky for six years and then served 28 years in the Virginia United Methodist Conference, retiring in 2011.

He founded Art for Humanity (AFH) in 2003. He serves as the president of AFH and contributes significant time and financial support to the projects in Honduras the largest of which is Honduras Independence Bilingual School (HIBS).

He is married to Karen who serves as his partner in AFH. He has a son and five grandchildren.
